Wildlife boat cruises on the Periyar Lake

Boating on the Periyar Lake enables visitors to get a closer look at the wildlife that resides in the surrounding forests. Groups of elephant, wild boar, bison and sambar can be seen moving along the banks skirting the forest.

Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary and Tiger Reserve is one of those few wildlife vacation destinations which are open in monsoons too. One can visit Periyar in any season. The best time to visit Periyar is September to April.
