Deccan Odyssey

Flagged off on 17th January 2004, this train was introduced by Maharashtra after the success of Palace on Wheels. The coaches of Deccan Odyssey have been inspired by the imperial carriages used by the Maharajas of the yore for travelling.

About the train

Deccan Odyssey Luxury Train comprises of 21 luxurious coaches, and 11 of them are used to accommodate guests. The remaining coaches are assigned for different purposes such as dining, lounge, conference car and health spa.
All the cabins of Deccan Odyssey are fully equipped with facilities like air-conditioning, internet connectivity and personalized guest amenities. Deccan Odyssey Journey will spoil you with its magnificence where you are treated with nothing but the best.

Facilities

The luxury train serves guests with some of the most beautiful facades of India. The coaches are adorned with old furniture with an age old charm. The spacious cabins of the train offer world class services. From multi-cuisine restaurants, sitting lounge, high-tech conference car and a relaxing spa, Deccan Odyssey train is equipped with everything.  
There are two multi-cuisine restaurants in the train, namely Peshwa I & Peshwa II. These wonderfully decorated restaurants will serve you with a range of traditional and international dishes. The train also has a bar with the name Mumbai Hi that brings in the best varieties of wines and spirits and gives ample space to unwind.
Deccan Odyssey is also suitable for corporate travellers, as the train has a modern conference car with high tech amenities and audio-visual equipments. Also, rejuvenate your senses by pampering yourself with a spa therapy onboard where some secrets of ancient Indian science Ayurveda help you achieve a balanced mind and body.

Destinations Covered

Taking you to the hinterlands of Maharashtra, the Deccan Odyssey Journey lets you tour the beautiful Western Ghats into the Deccan Plateau and Konkan Regions. Destinations covered during the journey include the holy city of Nashik, the unmatched Ajanta & Ellora Caves, history oozing Kolhapur, beaches of Goa, serenity of Ratnagiri, the national capital Delhi, the grandeur of Rajasthan and the city of love Agra.
Guests can also explore the royal Asiatic lions in the Ranthambore National Park, whilst enjoying the vivid landscape of the Little Rann of Kutch and architectural wonders of Modhera.

Tour Details

The different journeys are named under different sections, namely -

Maharashtra Splendor

The journey begins from Mumbai to Goa via Nashik, Ajanta Ellora Caves, Kolhapur, Sindhudurg and back.

Indian Odyssey

This tour starts from New Delhi and travels to Sawai Madhopur, Agra, Jaipur, Udaipur, Vadodara, Ellora Caves, then ends in Mumbai.

Indian Sojourn

This is just the upside down version of Indian Odyssey which begins from Mumbai up to New Delhi in earlier mentioned route.

Jewels of The Deccan

This expedition starts from Mumbai and moves to Bijapur, Aihole, Pattadakal, Hampi, Hyderabad, Ellora Ajanta Caves and finally back to Mumbai.

Hidden Treasures of Gujarat

The journey to witness the beauty of Gujarat also begins from Mumbai followed by Vadodara, Palitana, Gir, Little Rann of Kutch, Modhera, Nashik and back to Mumbai.

Maharashtra a Wild Trail

This is an in depth tour of Maharashtra, starting at Mumbai CST and moving on to Ellora Caves, Aurangabad, Pench (Ramtek), Tadoba, Ajanta Caves, Nashik and finally back to Mumbai.
