The train was started in the year 1994-95 as a joint venture of the Tourism Corporation of Gujarat and the Indian Railways. The Royal Orient journey lets you explore the Indian history, whilst letting you unwind like real Maharajas.

Facilities
The Royal Orient Train features 13 coaches inspired by erstwhile Kingdoms of Rajputana. Each coach is adorned with palatial style furniture and spacious baths. The multi-cuisine restaurant in the train serves authentic Rajasthani, Gujarati, Indian, Chinese and continental cuisines.
Guests can also enjoy some relaxing time at the in-house bar ‘The Watering Hole’. The bar serves liquor of both Indian as well as International Brands. One can also unwind in the beautifully adorned lounge with colour TV and CD player. Two attendants in each saloon are available to fulfill every wish of the guests boarding the train.

Destinations Covered
The Royal Orient Journey starts from Delhi and moves to Chittorgarh. Also, explore some historic wonders of Junagarh before moving to the exciting Gir Lion sanctuary where you can spot the majestic Asiatic Lion. The train also takes you to Jain temples at Shatrunjaya Hills known for their marvelous architecture. Thereafter, visit Ahmedabad presenting a mix of old and new India. The train then reaches the city of Jaipur in Rajasthan known for some charismatic ancient wonders mirroring rich Indian architecture.
